We use Virgin Mobile pre pay and like it just fine. For what we use it for its so much cheaper than a monthly cell phone plan.

That's what we use. You can pay either by the minutes or you can buy a monthly plan. We pay around $34.00/mo for 2 phones for 100 mins for each phone, where we use to pay $60.00 for 2 and had 250 mins for each (which never got used).

We use Virgin Mobile too. We hardly every use our cell phones & they're pretty much just for emergencies. So, we pay $40 ($20/phone for DH & I) every 3 months to keep them active. Before that we were paying $75/month for Verizon, hardly using our phones, and getting horrible reception after moving from AZ to WI. So, it is a big moneysaver for us (and we get better reception here too)!

I rarely if ever use the cell phone so this was just for the "in case you need to get a hold of me" moments or perhaps the "I'm stuck on the side of the road" moments or even the "Hun, don't forget to pick this up when you're out" moments too!

We ended up getting T-mobile to go service. I paid $79 for the phone and then bought a $100 for 1000 minutes card. When you choose to do that, you then will automatically receive 15% more in every pre paid minutes card you buy from now on. ON when you buy the 1000 minutes, they do not expire for a whole year! There are no hidden fees per month either. So basically I'm all set for $179.

I am quite happy with this service (so far). And the phone is cute too!

We got our daughter a Trac Phone this past year and love it and my husband and I have used T-Mobile's prepaid plan for about 3 years now and think it's great.

We used them and decided we were paying way more than what it was supposed to be. It started charging us thirty cents for each minute when it was supposed to be ten cents and then it also charged the thirty cents when we called our voicemail. It was a big waste of money for us.

Oops sorry didn't catch the brand, the one we used was the cingular, so beware of those prepaid ones.
