I have an HP officejet 5510, all in one, scanner, printer, copier, fax, and I love it, it was $159.99(2 years ago) The ink cartridges are $50.00 at Walmart(you get 1 black and 1 color) IMO all ink cartridges are over priced, but I have gotten so much use out of this thing that it is worth it!! I would replace it with the same thing, maybe minus the fax, I have used it, but not very often. HTH, good luck shopping around!!

We have a Cannon and love it-my DH uses it for work, I use it for pictures and we all use it for family stuff. I love that I don't need to have separate machines for everything.
Well worth the investment.

We just got an HP all in one...and so far love it, I haven't had to buy cartridges yet though. It is the one with 6 cartridges too. Yikes!! I hope I can find a good deal.

I used to work retail (Office Depot) and I can say that HP is a very good brand, hardly any returns. That is always my first choice.

We have had two. The first one, a Dell, died after less than a year. But our new one, and I THINK it is a Lexmark, works great, but it was MUCH more expensive. So, I think that had something to do with it too. If something seems too good to be true in the electronics field, I find that it usually is...

I am not a big fan of those type of machines. Once one thing goes than it seems worthless.

I have an HP PSC 1610 and I LOVE it.... This is my 2nd all in one and I'm very happy with it...Scanning pics and peinting them are the same exact quality as if I ordered them, so I really think it depends on your particular make and model, like I said, mine are the same quality as if I ordered them. The only time it isn't great quality is if the ink is low, but that is any printer!
A side note about Lexmarks, the machine itself you can get very cheap, but as I realized after my first one (Lexmark) that is b/c you will spend an arm and a leg on the printer cartiidges for it, almost twice as much as the HP ones!
Good luck!

We had a Lexmark 3 in 1 that we got as a gift about 5 years ago and we were not very impressed with it at all. It was nice to be able to copy and scan stuff, but the cartridges were very expensive and after awhile the color ink pretty much stopped working - we never did figure out how to fix it. We have a bare bones Canon ink jet printer (and the ink cartridges are the cheapest I've seen) now and I'm satisfied with it. I can make copies at Staples or the Library, have my parents scan and email anything I need, and have my husband fax things from work. I'm not saying I would never own one again, but if I do, it definitely won't be a Lexmark.
