I used to work retail (Office Depot) and I can say that HP is a very good brand, hardly any returns. That is always my first choice.

We have the HP with 6 cartridges too and from what the sales associate told us it would be the same price to replace all 6 cartridges then to buy a black and color for other printers. Plus they are supposed to last a lot longer.

We love ours and we have had several. So far hP is the best. Our Dell also stopped working within a year the ones before were a little bit better.

Good Luck!

I have the HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One, DH bought it for me for Christmas. So far I love it. I actually have used the plain old copy feature much more than I ever thought I would. I haven't had to replace any of the cartridges yet (It has the 6 cartidges) but the replacement cartridges didn't seem bad because they last a long time.

If you can get a good deal on one, why NOT try it? If one thing on it "dies"..well, it wouldn't be anymore than going ahead and replacing a regular printer to begin with! I have one, and I love it. We paid $60 for it, on clearance, after LAST Christmas. It is a HP PSC 1510-All in One. My printer was needing to be replaced, and since this was such a great deal, we went for it! If something in it "dies", I will definitely look for another clearance one! LOL

They are a good deal, I bought a Lexmark from Walmart about a year ago and paid less than fifty bucks for it. Still have it today and the kids have stepped on it and everything, still works, and the ink isn't much, you can buy the recycled ones and pay less than thirty dollars for both black and color ink.

Is your printer still good and do you like it? If so, look into getting a scanner - you can copy and scan. I love mine, its a Canon - DH surprised me for my birthday with it. Chances are the scanner will last much longer than a printer, and if theres nothing wrong with yours, why change it.

I've had a HP 3in1 for a couple of years and I absolutely love it! I can make copies of things and not have to go to a store to do so. I can scan in anything and save it on my computer. I buy the replacement ink cartridges at Target and they run ~$17-18 for a single and ~$33-34 for a package of two(color and B/W). I think there are more expensive at Staples, I haven't tried Walmart. I'd rather pay the money to get a good quality cartridge, but other than that, I wouldn't trade my printer for anything!

I actually have 2 working printers right now. A Lexmark Z25 and a Cannon Pixma. The Cannon came with our new computer that we bought last March/April. The Cannon seemed to go thru ink faster, so i hooked the lexmark back up. I just went and bought new cartridges for the lexmark,so i think i might just end up buying a scanner instead of a 3-in-1 machine, that would be the most affordable for me right now.

I have the HP 4-in-1 with the fax machine as well, and I love it! It is compact so it doesn't take up much room and it prints beautifully! I haven't had to replace the ink yet as it's only about a month old, so I can't help with the pricing. I can just say that I love the printer!
