We bought a Baby Tenda highchair for our ds. I liked it because it was impossible to knock over. If I had it to do all over again, I would go with the booster seat that straps to the chair. We used one once our ds too big for the highchair. We never used the tray. He was pushed up to the table and ate with us.

I have a high chair that I love. It is made by a company called Zooper and the style is the "peas and carrots". It is SO cute. I have to admit I bought it entirely on its looks because I have never seen any of these anywhere (ordered it online) and its dimensions. It doesn't take up much space and is very stylized. It is red! It looks fabulous in my kitchen, it is easy to clean, and it is one of the very quickly dwindling "safe places" for me to park my extremely active toddler for a moment's peace. I am leaving him in that chair until he won't go in it anymore. It is very cushy but very easy to clean. You should google it and look at it. I just love it. I had a Graco one with my older ds that I hated so much I ended up pitching it in the trash one day in a fit of rage after hosing it down on the deck to try to get it clean. WAY too many nooks and crannies on that one.

I also have a chair that clamps to a table or in my case our kitchen island. It is made by Jacadi. It is so handy and it folds completely flat so it is easy to take to restaurants. It is also great for when friends come over and need somewhere to feed their babies.

i agree with those that say get the booster kind i'm on my third child and we ditched the full high chair when ds #2 was born... the boosters are more practicle and space savings.

We have the Fisher Price Healthy Care high chair. It reclines, cleans easily, has casters so we can move it around, is height adjustable, and folds if you need to get it out of the way.
We also one that straps onto a chair that we found at a yard sale. We keep it in the car for those times when we end up at Grandma's or some other relative who doesn't have extra high chairs around.
And as for restaurant high chairs -- yuk! I got one of those shopping cart seat covers that you can use on restaurant high chairs. (I think the restaurant staff appreciates that it contains some of the mess.)
If you have a chance, check out Baby Bargains. It's written by a husband-wife team, but I can't remember the name. It lists the pros and cons of almost every type of baby equipment.

THANK you for all the great responses! I looked around for the FP reclining booster seat here but didn't have any luck. I found the "normal" FP booster but that was it.

Attached is a pic of what we ended up buying. It's a wooden high chair from Hauck, very similar to the Stokke high chair, it grows with the baby and the seat/footrest are all height adjustable. It was about a third of the price of the Stokke one, though, and seemed to be just as good quality. It pulls right up to the table (no tray) and the bar can be removed when he's a toddler.

We're very happy with it so far - and ds loves it too!
