Has anyone bought FLOAM for thier kids? My DS(5) keeps seeing the commercial for this stuff and asking me to buy it for him. It looks like it has the potential to be a big mess, especially if it gets on something(that you don't want it on) and dries.

TIA

I have kids around that age and they wanted it for like 8 months. I didn't want to get it for them but when the baby died I just let them get it because I didn't want to deal with the arguements. So yeah, they played for it for 15 20 minutes and that was about it. The kids here want every thing they see off a commercial and then after awhile it's done. We got the 2 pack from TRU instead of buying it off the tv.

We have it...I am not all that impressed with it and neither are the kids. It isn't a big mess, very easy to clean up, so those are actually a bonus for us....It does dry out fast (you just have to "mush" it back together with the gel thhat kind of stays at the bottom of the tub) and doesn't stick to anything very well (so if the kids try to 'floam' a toy or something like they show in the commercial, it doesn't work too well).

I'd goto Target or wal-mart and try out a $5 tub of it, even the craft stores here sell it in a small tub for $5 or so (maybe cheaper if you have a coupon (Michael's or AC Moore!) )

Yes, and hated it. It's a horrible, gooey mess. DS didn't like it after awhile, either. However, Lakeshore Learning has similar stuff, without the goo - it's dryer and molds better. If you google Floam, you will see a lot of complaints. The company isn't good on customer service, either.

I bought a bunch of this and it was aweful!!1 We got it on Clearance really cheap so I thought I'd get my dsd a bunch of it--she had that gooey stuff on everything stuck on her shoe strings , walls pillows, they put it all over the faucets in my MIL's bathroon(awww how sad). So I took the rest of it and sent it with all my sisters and sil's kids!!!!

I bought it for my DD and it was a mess, I had her play with it outside on the table and some got on the deck and stained it! Also, it does not come out of clothes, we ended up throwing ours away after one day of playing with it.

My dd played with it at a friends house and still bugs me to buy it. I just say no. I was not impressed. It got on her clothes, so I immediately brought her home and had her change her clothes so I could get them in the wash. It all came out, but it did not look like it would.
