My DH ordered flowers for me for Valentine's Day from 1-800 Flowers.com and they arrived with a smashed box, broken vase and beat up flowers. DH was livid. He called their number and got a human on the second ring (that alone impressed me) and he told them what happened and the lady was very appologetic and said she was going to pick out a more expensive arrangement and get it out right away. They were wonderful, they appeased my DH without any problem. A couple of days ago I checked our cc account and they credited him for the first arrangement! I couldn't believe they sent me the second arrangement AND gave us our $$$ back. The second arrangement was a big bouquet of the palest pink lillies and they are beautiful. They get high marks from me!

That is great that they would do that. It's great to hear about a company that really works on making the customer happy!

I used them once before - sent a plant to a friend for a sympathy gift - how embarrassed was I when they left it on their front porch in the freezing temperature. The plant was a disaster. I called them, they refunded my money and sent another plant to my friend as well. Unfortunately with a service like that, they farm out their deliveries to florists and you never know what you'll get. At least they take care of the customer in the end. Glad it worked out for you.

Wow. Great customer service. I've used proflowers, too, with good results.

Just FYI - I was sent flowers from that same company for Valentine's Day. Mine came fully closed up but opened gradually and look exactly like the picture online - when has that ever happened?!?! I had never been sent or used that company before but now I would certainly use them again.

Wow...you got flowers from them? My DH ordered me flowers for Valentines day from 1800 and they NEVER came! 2 days after v-day my DH called them and they "canceled" the order.
DH was furious!

Then, my DH brought me home a beautiful set of roses from the local flower shop to make up for V-day.

Wow! That is what this forum is for! Thank you for sharing your experience! I had a local florist leave a flowering plant w/a neighbor (it turned out to be someone up the hill we didn't know!), who kept it until after I came home a week later from the hospital. The plant was pretty much dead. But the florist wouldn't do anything about it. It's a tough position for them, but being that they did some major business w/my husband's company (the sender), I would have expected better.
