Formby's Furniture FaceLift? I just bought it on clearance from Wal-Mart for $15.00 and used it to perk up the finish on my coffee table (which was in my Grandma's house when I was growing up in the '70's and '80's!). So, needless to say, the style is very dated even though it's made of really heavy oak and was in perfect condition when we got it. Now, 5 years and 2 kids later it's looking very sad. DH won't buy new couches and tables for the great room until the kids are a little older. And though I really want new stuff I understand what he's saying.
So you use the cleaner, use the buffing cream (which is almost like exfoliating cream for your face but a little thinner), and then wipe that off and apply the sealer. It turned out really great and took out most of the scratches from cars being driven (banged) on it. I am planning on doing my to end table the same way. Easier and less messy than refinishing and even though it said the finish would dry in 4 hours I let it dry overnight.
I'm proud of myself because I haven't done a lot of home projects and have decided I need to try and learn new things, especially when DH works so much and says he'll get to stuff but doesn't. I even bought myself a Barbara K tool kit for women that I use a lot.
