I wasn't sure where to post this, feel free to move it if its more appropriate somewhere else! I tried to search Tea Tree Oil but both Tea & Tree were to short so I got back a whole bunch of unrelated posts that included the word Tree!

I know there are TONS of uses for Tea Tree Oil, I've had some for a few months that I haven't used till the other day. I was getting a painful pimple that hadn't really surfaced yet and someone suggested I use tea tree oil... dabbed some on in two days it was gone! Never fully surfaced! The stuff reeks, but I'm willing to deal with that. What are your favorite things to do with Tea Tree Oil?

Some say it helps with dandruff and eczema. I've also read about those who have used it for cleaning around the house, like the bathroom as an antibacterial, but haven't found out how much to use in how much water - the stuff would be too expensive to use a lot.

Yes that stuff does smell something awful, but it sure works!! Dd had some itchy spots on her scalp, she scratched so much she was bleeding. The Tea Tree oil worked great!!! I use it on my face when it get those occasional 'drainy" type pimples, you know the ones that are just clear fluid......it helps dry them up quickly.

Tea Tree oil is a great disinfectant! It will help clear out viruses & clear up all kinds of skin conditions. Since the smell isn't the best, try blending it with some Lavensar or Bergamot; for cleaning try adding a few drops of it to a bucket of water along with some lemon oil. Tea tree & lemon oil mixed together is also a great insect repellant;just mix it up with a carrier oil & put in a spray bottle. Make sure you don't use it neat around babies though, it's not safe for them.

My doctor just mentioned to me that I needed to be careful about putting tea tree oil and lavender essential oils into my beauty and cleaning products. (I like to make my own) He gave me a recent study that indicated that both could cause estrogen to increase in young males. the study cited examples of boys growing breast tissue from using products with these ingredients. I have a young son so I am discontinuing using them for the time being

Also, I've heard people put it in a footbath to stop odor and bacteria on their feet.

I use Tea Tree Oil to deodarize my DS cloth diapers... and his diaper wet bag. When I wash his dipes in the washing machine I add a few drops of tea tree oil to the laundry and it helps make them have that nice clean smell again.. I have also used it for psorasis I have on my scalp.. And since I make my own shampoo I use it in there to.. My dh loves the smell of it added with Ecu.. and fressia
