I think Schwans tastes the same as store bought.

My favorite is Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter & Chocolate.

Okay, I'm going to be giving away my "little secret" here...but, every Christmas (which is the only time this ice cream can be found) my Walmart stocks Peppermint ice cream (think it's GV brand, even) and I literally STOCK...UP!! This last season I bought (and I'm not kidding here!!) about 13-15 half gallons of the stuff! I mean I CLEANED THEM OUT each time they restocked!! This way I can have my fav. ice cream all year round...which, admittedly...is already GONE!! So, for the rest of the year I have to satisfy my ice cream fix with Blue Bunny "Brownie Fudge Fantasy-Frozen Yogart", Blue Bunny "Super Fudge Brownie", or Blue Bunny peanut butter fudge ice cream.

Sorry, I know you were asking if any of us had any cheaper ideas for ice cream, but to me life's too short for cheap ice cream, cheap coffee and cheap toilet paper!! (That's my motto!!)

I like store brand. Tastes just as good ad the regular brands, but much cheaper.

My favorite when going out is Cold Stone. Mint ice cream with brownies mixed in...YUM!
