This article really ticked me off. It said that only people who live in Illinois are eligible for a refund on these bibs, even though they were sold all over the country. No reason why. It also said that Walmart was referring questions regarding the manufacturing process to the company that made the bibs (Hamco Inc), but Hamco was answering "no comment" and referring all questions back to Walmart.

*bad words*

I didn't buy any of the bibs, thank goodness. I just wanted to post my rant about companies that don't accept responsibility for their screw-ups.

I do have a baby on the way and I won't be using any cruddy bibs from Walmart or anything, period, manufactured by Hamco Inc.

*more bad words*

I have about 40 of these bibs... what am I supposed to do with them. I don't live in Illinois, but Georgia. I guess I will toss them out, since I can't take them back.

I bought a pack of 10 of these too. I dont want to get rid of them. I know they say that they are ok unless they are damaged/torn etc. This stinks.

I was thinking... maybe I can just use them as dusting rags or something. Stetson is in chewing stage, so I can't let him have them.

Andrea, I wouldn't do that. When things break down like that, lead can leave a residue and fine dust. Get rid of them. It did say in the article that later he said it would be recalled nationwide. Go to your Walmart and demand.

Because a lot of it comes from CHINA, which has different standards. However, any company that brings these in should require the manufacturer to insure no lead or other toxic substances exist, and those companies should be fined!

Get this - you know about the adulterated wheat gluten and rice protein that has a component of plastic in it, killing our animals (and it could be harming us!)? Well, I was reading the other day that China has allowed the FDA to inspect the product as it comes into the US. ALLOWING? The FDA should have the authority to inspect this stuff at any time! What is wrong here?

This is just terrible. I make a point of not letting my little one wear any kid metal jewelry or eat any food that is labelled as being made or packaged in China. Doctors get on us about having an old house and all its lead paint dangers but I think the lead poisoning is coming from elsewhere.
