Everyone claims the mac is safer but realisticly isn't it less safe because most people on a mac are not as cautious as pc users. Pc users are running software firewalls to see what connections are coming in and out and other security type programs.
If someone personally knows you are on a mac seems they could target you better since they know you proably won't be looking for anything out of the ordinary.

What do you guys think

Well, we have never had a virus on our macs and have had them for years!!!
We still have anti-virus software and such.

People on macs know they don't need to be cautious because it's very rare for a virus to come through on a mac. DH bought a mac about 2 years ago and has never had a virus, it has never shut down, no blue screen, nothing! I bought a new pc about 5 months ago and I've already experienced all of those I only bought the PC because I wanted to run the software that I'm familiar with. Next time I'll buy the mac, no question. In summary, yes, the mac really is safer than a pc!

I'd say beware of phishing expeditions.

gppaulla.zz does have a point: there are viruses out there for the mac. They just aren't as used as much a the PC ones, but they are there. Sweden does have some.

I've had a Mac in my house for over five years and have never had one virus. Not one! Most of my friends have Macs as well, and again, no viruses. Don't even get me started on my husbands old pc. Love, love the Mac!!!!
