Hello! I am researching and need to buy a new digital camera which I now have is Kodak, I am not very happy with it and it seems always eat up the battery life fast. I want to know if any of you have Canon or Nikon - I don't want to buy expensive one, just simply digital camera for family vacation, party & etc..

Hi I have a Canon powershot A620 and i love it. It takes great pictures. It takes 4 AA batteries and I use rechargeable batteries. They seem to last forever. I have two sets of rechargeables so I always have an extra charged set whenever I go somewhere with the camera. I am not sure how much I paid for it. I believe it was a over $200. A friend of mine bought a less expensive canon and hers is just as nice. I really like canon cameras. When I was looking into buying a camera I went to different stores and tried their cameras out until I found one I felt was the easiest one for me to use. Good luck.

I have a Sony Cybershot, we've been pretty happy with it. The battery lasts a loooong time which is good for this mama who always forgets to recharge!

May's Consumer Reports has reviews on Digital Cameras. See if your library has a copy.

I have a Kodak Easyshare that I like a lot. Ours uses a rechargable lithium ion battery rather than regular AA's - I don't have change it very often at all (we have one in the camera and one spare which I always keep charged so it's ready to go when I need it). I'm not sure what kind of batteries your camera uses, but that can really make a difference. My parents have an HP that uses regular batteries and they are constantly changing them.

We just got a Casio EX-Z75. I like it. I don't know much about them, but it takes good pictures and you can do movies on it. The battery is a Lithium Ion Battery. It's 7.2 mega pixels, has a large screen on the back, zoom & best shot options and was about $230-250 at Best Buy.
