OK Ladies - down and dirty! What is your favorite cleaner for the yicky toilet? I use the Clorox stick that has the scrubber attached - you just replace the scrubber each time. It is great for maintenance, but I feel I need something stronger for when it's gotten a little worse. I like Lysol Cling. How about you?

Do you use anything in the tank or bowl for maintenance that stays there all the time?

I use either "The Works" or "Sno-Bol" they really do the trick for me, I have well water and these products are the only ones that seem to get the rust stains out!!

One thing I found never works are the "Bam" products that the guy who always yells on the commercials shouts about. I can't remember the exact name - but NOTHING in that line seems to work - he seems to think that the louder he yells, the more we'll try it to shut him up.

ETA: It isn't Bam, but KaBoom, I think. Now he's hawking Simoniz Diamond coat for cars - Simoniz is a well-known brand - why do they have to mess it up by hiring him? I won't trust it now.!

I use the Lysol Cling but I really want to get one of those scrubbers with the disposable pads and try those out, too.

I use the Clorax cling with bleach, although if anyone has something that works better I would be up for that. I still have to scrub really hard and long to get it clean.

Be careful w/bleach - bleach and ammonia (which is in urine) make toxic fumes - there was actually talk about banning it from the market, but it never happened.

On the disposable wands - I tried the one that is made of paper at the end - they say you could just flush it - it didn't work worth a darn in scrubbing capabilities. I do like the Clorox one (I don't think there's bleach in it...I'll have to look - just make sure your fan is on and you protect your face), even though it's not flushable.

I think what I'd like is something with a safe abrasive, like a Soft Scrub or something w/scrubbing beads to help really clean it.

I love The Works! When we first moved into our house it was just dh and I. No kids yet. We had 3 toilets and not all of them got used regularly with just the 2 of us. We would get really bad hard water rings. I tried everything. The Works really worked the best.

Has anyone ever tried putting in a coke to get off the rust stains? I was reading something about that the other day. I don't have a problem with rust..just with a dh and 2 sons not aiming right!! LOL
