Hi there, can anybody give me any suggestions on a good quality digital camera? My digital takes pictures way too slowly, and I am always missing the cute things my baby does!! Thanks!

I have a Kodak Easyshare C875. its an 8mp easy to use camera that takes excellent quality pictures. The shutterspeed seems fine, I manage to catch quite a few cute pics. I know it's faster than my old HP camera. It's very affordable considering its an 8mp. You do not need the dock that is sold seperately. It comes with a cord to plug it into the PC to get the pics off the memory card.It also has a plug for the TV the TV to see the pics on your big screen.

Just got a Canon s3 IS and I'm still experimenting with it, but it's supposed to be faster. It can take video and pics at the same time. Has stereo audio.

Also, I think the card you use may have something to do with it. Try using a "faster card". I'm looking at getting a sandisk 2GB Extreme III SD card (check amazon...), it's supposed to be faster recording the the card. Also, things like red-eye reduction can slow down the shutter. Try Steve's Digicams - Main Menu for reviews. HTH

I just got the Canon PowerShot A630 and I love it!!! It's fast and it can really zoom things in clearly. I paid $189.00.

You might want to look at the Canon PowerShot Elph series. The Canon PowerShot SD800 is great! It's really fast to start up and takes pictures quick. It has continuous shooting, which means it gets keeps taking pictures and a rate of a couple a second. That is great for when you have the kids all arranged and you can just shoot off 10 pictures or so in a few seconds. Hopefully, one has them all looking! It has a children and pets setting that helps with the blur. It also has Image Stabilization that really is intended to help with the carama moving, not the subject, but I think it helps a ton to reduce blurry pictures. It also does well in low light. I hated it with my old camera when I would try to take a picture in low light and it would take forever to try and focus. Another thing they have added is face recognition technology. The camera then focuses in on each face and produces a better shot. The last thing I like is that it has a wide angle lens. It's way easier to get a group shot around a dinner table or a group shot in close quarters.

There are so many choices out there, for relatively inexpensive, so read lots of reviews and look for the features you want.
