You might want to look at the Canon PowerShot Elph series. The Canon PowerShot SD800 is great! It's really fast to start up and takes pictures quick. It has continuous shooting, which means it gets keeps taking pictures and a rate of a couple a second. That is great for when you have the kids all arranged and you can just shoot off 10 pictures or so in a few seconds. Hopefully, one has them all looking! It has a children and pets setting that helps with the blur. It also has Image Stabilization that really is intended to help with the carama moving, not the subject, but I think it helps a ton to reduce blurry pictures. It also does well in low light. I hated it with my old camera when I would try to take a picture in low light and it would take forever to try and focus. Another thing they have added is face recognition technology. The camera then focuses in on each face and produces a better shot. The last thing I like is that it has a wide angle lens. It's way easier to get a group shot around a dinner table or a group shot in close quarters.
There are so many choices out there, for relatively inexpensive, so read lots of reviews and look for the features you want.
