My "Little Red" (Toastmaster 4-cup) finally took a dump. Started leaking water, which is a total fire hazard. It came as a set: coffeemaker, toaster, and can opener, which I paid $20 for over 2 yrs. ago...which I thought was a good deal, since I needed a new toaster and can opener anyways.

Yesterday, I bought a 10-cup "Counter Cook" brand for $10 at Big Lots, and was wondering if anyone out there also has this coffeemaker.

Are you pleased with it? Any problems with it? Should I have splurged and bought a more expensive one? I still haven't used it, so I can still take it back.

I have a Senseo. I got it free through a promotion last year ($60 retail). It is a one/two cup coffee maker that uses the pods. I love it! I use Senseo or Folgers brand pods and it works great. It is very fast, a few seconds to warm up the water then push a button to make the coffee. No pot, no measuring, no mess. I wipe the pod area out when I'm finished and clean all the parts about once a week. I only drink 2 cups per day so it is less than $3 a week. Some folks think that is expensive but I don't waste any coffee because I make it 1 cup at a time.

I'm a coffee snob so we own the Krups because it has a cone shaped filter basket instead of the flat basket. We've had the Krups for a long time and it has held up well.

we currently have a Mr. Coffee it works fine and I think Dh said he paid $40.00 for it. We used to have some off brand that I paid $9.99 it lasted 3 yrs. Can't complain since we both are coffee drinkers and sometimes make 2 pots a day. (I know bad the second is only if we had a really good dinner lol)

We have the Huntington Beach coffee maker and WE LOVE IT! There is no coffee pot with it, it's the kind that you press the coffee cup up against the button and the coffee pours out. It works GREAT for people with little kids, because I can hold Noah and pour myself a cup of coffee VERY EASILY!!!

I signed up for the Senseo offer, but never got anything.

I've never heard of the Cuisinart Self-Grinder!! I bet that makes AWESOME coffee!!
What do you do? Just put the beans in and it grinds them for you, and then makes the coffee too? That's too cool!! I just do the two-step method. Grind, then pour into the coffeemaker.

This one I bought has a permanent filter too, just like my "Little Red" did, and also came with a measuring scoop. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to really tug to swing the basket out, and it's kind of hard to get it to lock back into place too. (You have to push down and in at the same time pretty hard, to get it to lock.)

I think I'm going to take it back....SOON! Can't live without my morning coffee!!

That's exactly what you do. Put the beans in the grinder at the top. It grinds them & pours them into the filter and brews freshly gorund coffee. I go buy the big bag of Starbucks beans at Costco & am good to go. The coffee pot has a timer on it & all. I love it!

I don't know how in the world you are doing it without morning coffee...or afternoon coffee or evening coffee.....

Well, I did use my old one yesterday morning...standing over it.
Then yesterday, I bought my afternoon coffee from Arby's!
This morning I used my old one again, before opening the box on the new one.
I don't know...maybe I'll price the ones at Wally World today. But I am DEFINATELY going to price the Cuisinarts!! I would be in HEAVEN with the type you have!

And Me&My2Girls...sounds like you have a coffeemaker that is just perfect for you. "One handed refills"!! LOVE IT!
