My 3 year old is plagued with several allergies. After trying several things, we decided to purchase the IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifier.
I looked in several stores and online and lowest I could find was $795!!!!

If anyone has seen this air purifier for less or have a coupon I can use please let me know!!

Thanks.

I have allergies and asthma. We decided to install a whole house air purifier instead. If you own your home, that would be the way to go. If you rent, then you need a portable.

You might decide to purchase a cheaper air purifier first (Honeywell makes decent ones) then save up to upgrade to another model. You'll always have a reason to use more than one air purifier in your house or to keep one with you when you travel.

I also have a Honeywell one, and it did a good job. Stay away from those Ionic ones like at Sharper Image. They don't do much and are bad for you.

I'm not familiar with the one you are interested in, but would suggest you look up Consumer Reports and do some googling on it. I often type in what it is and then type complaint after it. But find all reviews you can.

I have horrible allergies. We bought an air purifier about 2 years ago. The HEPA types are the only ones that really work. We bought a Kenmore because they were about 1/2 the price of all the others we could find (even shopping on-line.) Even my husband noticed a difference after we plugged it in. They do really make a difference to allergy sufferers, but are expensive. The replacement filters are right at $100 required about once a year. We just vaccuum off the foam pre-filter. I wouldn't be without one after having had one. I hope that helps you make a decision.

Thanks for the responses.

Has anyone tried stand alone air purifiers that claim to kill bacteria and molds?

I would also like to know about built in air purifiers for homes.
thanks.
