Okay I do not know how everybody else feels about this, but I am really getting pretty concerned with these toy recalls of toys having lead in their paint. I got on Mattel's site for the latest recall, and the Sarge car from the movie "Cars" is being recalled because of lead in the paint.

Well....DS has that same exact car. I compared our car with the one they showed on the website, and our information indicates that it is one of those affected in the recall so I am sending it back. I do not know if he has put this one in his mouth, but I have seen him put some of the others in his mouth.

Some of the Fisher-Price toys that were recalled are ones that you would have babies or young toddlers play with and will probably end up in their mouths alot & they say that they have lead in the paint! I mean what are we supposed to do?! This really makes me mad & something definitely needs to be done!!n my soapbox:

we have a bunch of the toys that were recalled but they were made before the specified dates. This really concerns me because who's to say that lead paint wasn't used in the previous productions. I'm so mad that at this point I'm going to boycott Mattel and Fisher Price! Anyone else care to join me?

I have a bunch. The Dora house and van, some Doggy Daycare, some Polly Pockets, that Elmo scribble thing and I think a couple others. It was a pain trying to figure out which items were included. I don't think I'm going to do anything. Obviously keep the magnets away from the littlest. As far as the lead paint is concerned, we are pretty much past the putting things in the mouth phase so I'm not that concerned. I'll probably just make sure to throw those toys out instead of putting them in a garage sale. My mom was freaking out! I told that my crib was probably painted with paint containing lead and look how great I turned out! I know this is serious but you have to weigh the risks to determine what is right for you!

We had two of the Sodor mailcars from the Thomas recall that I had to send back. We didn't have any Dora, Diego or Sesame Street ones since my boys aren't into those characters. We have just about every other Cars movie car but not Sarge, although I'm worried when and if the rest will be recalled. My oldest ds has a few Batman figures but none that were part of the recall.
