I am looking to purchase a new carpet cleaner. The one I have now is just not working right. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what works best for them? Thanks!

I had a Bissell that I loved. It had the rotating brush like a vaccum does. It did die after a few years use but I really liked it and thought it did a great job.

I have a Bissel also and it has worked good through out the years to spot clean. I usually get my carpets cleaned professionally 2 times a year because I have daycare. This year I rented a rug doctor. OMG- It was wonderful. I could see clean lines in my floor as I was cleaning. It was $25 for the weekend, I usually spend 100 per time for a professional. And it took me about 8 hours to do our livingroom, stairs and hallway, but I went over it several times with just clear water to rinse the carpet too.
One thing I have heard is to get one that has brissels like a vaccume not the ones that have the small circle brushes that spin in circles because they unravel your carpet strands.
