From my "diagnosis", it's not that it's a "chemical burn" per se, but more a terrible allergic reaction to the rubber that makes up the straps. I've only heard of this happening to her and a couple other people nation wide, so I'd imagine that is probably the case, in that it would not do the same to everyone.
Edited to add that I could be wrong, and that no matter what it was, Walmart should have at least taken her account seriously. I feel terrible for her, as that looks like something I'd cry over everyday. You KNOW that hurts!

We had this story on here awhile back. There were lots of doubts as to it's validity.
