we have this crib. it says in the article about old hardware and new hardware and hanging the rail upside down....it doesn't say whether or not you can return it. i don't know if i feel comfortable using the crib anymore even if i do have the new hardware and the rail is not upside down. what do you guys think???

That is horrible. I don't have this crib but the recalls are getting old. I filled out the forms for the toys we have that are recalled and haven't received a mailing label yet. I don't care about the $, I just want to send them back to say, 'Here, take your junk back'.

The website for the company has pictures of what the old hardware and new hardware should look like. You can find them here Simplicity for Children

I have this crib, luckily, with the new hardware. You can order the new hardware through the company.

I believe this was a design error. Unless a Chinese manufacturer actually designed the hardware, they aren't to blame.

This, infact was a DESIGN error- You are very correct ChickyHip! That is exactly what my DH said (he's a product design engineer)...It has nothing to do with the fact that it was "made in China." It has to do with the American DUMMY that designed the faulty hardware. It's not like the materials that were used were painted wrong, or what ever- the design just stunk.

It was not a Chinese person who designed it, because these cribs are being recalled by the "American Company" that makes and sells them- which means they have designers here that send the designs and instructions to China for them to make certain parts.

OMG!!!!! We have THREE of these cribs! My son's has already been converted to the toddler bed, so it is unaffected, my daughter's is just a regular crib set up, our other crib is for baby number three who will be born next month and they all have the older hardware!!!. I am sooooooo peeved about this. ALL of my little babies have been, will be or are at risk from sleeping in these cribs!!!! How SCARY! This is one which has actually been substantiated. A little baby died, it sn't just a suspected problem. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!! You may have saved my babies' lives.
