I prefer powdered, because the smell of it stays on your clothes. That's probably not good for your skin though, huh? lol.

I like the Arm & Hammer kind that comes in the big yellowish/orange box. I used to use that all the time and we did all our laundry with cold water and it never left residue.

We've had to use a laundromat for the last 1.5 years, so powder is easier for me too. I put some in a yogurt container and it's small and light, easy to carry. Several months ago, I experimented a bit with making my own and I still have a ton left. Made with Fels Naptha soap, borax and washing soda. It smells SO good; I love it. Easy to make and so so cheap! It works great too.
