I found a new product at Walmart this weekend, it's a mesh bag called a soap saver. You put the small pieces of bar soap in it and use it like a bath sponge. It's supposed to exfoliate your skin too. And it only costs like $1.25 or something. Does anyone else use these?

I don't use one, nor have I seen them sold in stores, but if you tell me more of what it looked like I bet I could make one. I suppose it had some sort of drawstring. Right? That's a great way to keep from having to throw out perfectly good soap!!

I don't buy these. However I make them for my family and friends. My dd's have a problem with getting soap all over and it getting all squishy. Now they are in these bags they can be squishy cuz they still do the job.

The ones I make aren't mesh though. They are a soft terry on one side and a flannel on the other side with a piece of fleece inside to help it lather up better. I make these with closures so they can be washed and reused.

I haven't bought soap in years. My husband travels so much he is forever bringing home little hotel soaps that we use. Instead of having little pieces of soap all over the house, I bought a pair of nylon knee-hi's at the dollar store and I slip the pieces of soap into that. I tie an overhand knot to keep them in place and even make it so there is a loop at the end so I can hang the soap to dry. We have them in all the bathrooms. When I want to add more soap, I simply untie the knot. In the summer, I put a few bars of soap in a mesh bag out by the water faucet so we can wash-up before coming inside. I wouldn't ever buy a bag, though.
