Hi there- going to my first MK party and wanted your opinion. How many of you are devoted users? I have heard their prices are better than what you'll find in the malls (Lancome, etc.). Just wanted your opinion likes, dislikes... TIA!!!

I love Mary Kay product but hate the pink cult. Don't let them sign you up and suck you in!

PInk cult. Oh thats funny! LOL. I won't say anything negative about them. I love Avon. I will say that I loved it when the lady came to my house and found the exact shade foundation for me to buy. I would have bought it again, but I lost touch with her, since it did last me a long time. Mary Kay ladies usually have it all on them, so you can see how things look on you. That is a plus. I myself, wouldn't want to go to a party, but that is just me.

I love their eye shadow. It's nice and silky and goes on smoothly.

Any thing that is not liquid that goes on your face I LOVE... but anyting that is liquid, lotion, foundation... makes me beakout and they will tell you it will do this if you don't use all there product, wash, moist, make up , all they say it is becuase a chemical reaction ...NOT the case with me. My MIL use to sell it and my SIL does still.

I use to be a consultant, until Feb 07. I use to buy for myself and my friends at my cost. But I started a new job and not very many ladies at work used the products. (I could not jusify spending $180 a year for personal use, because I could not use that much in 1 year) I do love their skin care system- I use the #3 during the summer (oily skin) and #2 during the winter (normal skin) and make up. The only thing I didn't use was the foundation due to they changed it and it was to thick for me. I would go to the party, just to see what you like and have them give you some free samples. If you like it and have a friend that sells it try to get her discount.

they do have a lot of nice products. I like the mascara, men's cologne, sunscreen. I agree about not getting sucked in!

I really like MK products, I use more make-up now than I used to now that I use MK. I use foundation, eyeliner and mascara everyday. I also like their lipgloss. My dd is 12 and she uses the Velocity Cleanser, which works great for her. I have been to several MK parties and if done right they are a lot of fun. You learn different techniques and what colors are best for you. Hope you have a good time!

Personally, I didn't think their products were that great. And I agree about the pink cult, I had a major problem w/a consultant that would not let up about trying to get me to also become a consultant. To be honest, I have not ordered or went to a Mary Kay party since for that reason!!

Thanks, girls. I'll give it a try and avoid the "cult" (funny name). I WILL NOT sign up to sell... just not me!
