I would like to get my 2 1/2 year old a doll house for Xmas -- anyone have one that they really love? Any to stay away from?

We really like the Fisher Price ones. My mom has an older one from when my oldest was young- she every once in a while will play with it- the Loving Family ones. We used to have it here- but my youngest wanted the Dora House- which we go before all the recalls. IMHO- I would stick with the Fisher Price ones- they have one for smaller kids- but I would go with the next size up (I think the twin time one is eally cute). RIght now I am trying to sell the Dora House- my youngest wanted it so bad- yet does not play with it as much as she did with the Fisher Price one when it was her- right now she wants a Bigger Barbie house.

My DD's got one 3 years ago for Christmas and still play with it all the time (they are now ages 7, 5, & 3) it is teh 99.00 one fromtoys r us...it is wook, has to be assembled and stands about 5 feet high---we LOVE it and when friends come over all the kids gravitate to it! It comes with some furnature and you can play with any size doll you want, polly, barbie, fischer price little dolls, even small stuffed animals (I have seen our lil webkinz live there lately!) Good luck...this was a pricey gft at teh time but I am SO glad they got it!

When my dd was 3 1/2, I bought her a Fisher-Price Loving Family Dollhouse (this is the one that has a horse barn) for Christmas. She's really enjoyed it. It's 5 years old now and still in great shape. It seems well-built and durable.
