I have a swiffer that I use for our hardwood and it works great for me. Love it and all that.

My MIL was showing me how she bought a big swiffer type tool at Target, with removeable (washable) microfiber cloths. She thinks the disposable cloths for the swiffer are 'very expensive'. The head of it is a lot bigger than a swiffer though...

I love my swiffer and I don't find the disposable cloths that go with it all that expensive. I also flip them over and use the other side to get the most use out of it. I guess if it 'ain't broke - dont' fix it!'...LOL!

Just curious if anyone switched from swiffer and how they liked it...

I have a swiffer and I love it. Sometimes instead of buying the refill cloths I use the blue cleaning cloths I think they are called Handi Wipes? They work great if you fold them in half and can be washed a few times before they need to be tossed.

I just took some old polar fleece, cut it to the same size as the swiffers, and use those. You can wash them over & over & everything sticks to the fleece.

I have a wet swiffer tip.
I bought a swiffer wet jet because I always wanted more solution than the pads could give me. The wet jet has little hooks on the bottom to hold the pads, but I use an old washcloth instead of the pads, it's little loops hook right on and it scrubs so much better, I just turn it around halfway through. I wash it with my whites and bleach it, always comes out clean.
I currently use the wet jet solution, but when it runs out I may just use a Sal Suds solution in a spray bottle instead, I think it works better and doesn't leave a sticky residue, plus I've read that the solution system breaks easily. But, I'll still use the wet jet stick because it works so well with the washcloth.
I've never found the dry swiffer refills to be expensive, I buy store brand and turn them over.

I love my swiffer, I use it every day on the the tile floors in both the bathrooms. I buy the refills in the jumbo pack at Sam's and they are quite reasonable.

I use a washable microfiber washcloth that I cut to size for my WetJet (that I "rescued" from our neighbor's trash), and make my own cleaning solution from regular dilutable Mr. Clean. My husband says that I'm so cheap that I squeak when I walk. Might be true....

I purchased a swiffer-like mop from Fuller. I bought 4 pads, 2 wet & 2 dry (dusting) cloths. I wait until they are all dirty and wash them in vinegar w/a little Borax about every other week. I'm very pleased with them and it is one way I can reduce my trash and expenses. I also bought a washable duster that is similar to swiffer. I either use a spray bottle of vinegar or Method.
