anyone have a mini van? We are thinking of buying either a Honda Oddesdy or Dodge Caravan? What do you recommend? I have two dogs, two kids (both in car seats), and a double stroller.

I have a Nissan, but if I were choosing between the Honda or the Dodge, I would go with the Odyssey. When we were looking about for a minivan over 2 years ago, the Honda appeared to be of better quality than the Caravan. My GM and a former co-worker had Caravans in the past, and both wound up having transmission and other problems (don't know if they were just defective for those years or not); but, that made us want to steer clear of them.
Some other Caravan owners may have had better luck and recommend them.

We have an Odyssey and I would definitely recommend it over the Caravan, but that's just me. As T-shell said, there are plenty of moms on here who would disagree. You might want to check out the most recent auto issue of Consumer Reports at the library to further research both cars before making your decision.

I have a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country. I love it.

The Chryslers do,however, have a history of transmission problems. I am married to a Car Guy so we bought the extended warranty (we only buy used).

i have a grand caravan and love it (they have a tendancy to have transmission issues but ours was replaced while under warranty and we then drove it in before the milage was up and bought the extended you don't have to buy that when you purchase the car you can wait) the odysseys hold their values well.. we are grandcaravan people and when we replace this one we will probably get another one since it has been great and we had not had any other maitanence issues.

I have a 2004 Chrysler Town and Country!! I haven't had any major problems with it at all yet. We got it in Sept of 2005.

I must say the Stow n Go seating is a life saver. I absolutely LOVE this feature! If for some reason we had to get another van tomorrow, I would once again go with another T&C with Stow n Go. I have 3 boys and like to lay the seat right behind me down. That way I'm able to climb in with them. I can lock the doors while I'm buckling them in. I can store a stroller in there when we're going from store to store instead of having to put it in the back. I've also gone garage saleing and come back with all the back seats laying down (flat to the floor) and have stored up to an armoire in the back. LOVE it!!!
