Sorry if its TMI info for some so I wont go into details or anything. I was just reading on alternatives and things. Since the birth of DD3 my flow has gotten heavier Do either of these work? Have you tried them?

I have used the Diva Cup since 2000 and it works great. I have endometriosis and since using the Diva Cup the cramping has been cut in half and there have been no more leeks. I also use Lunapads which has helped as well. Sometimes our cycles can be worse if you have a sensitivity to the bleach used in disposibles. I didn't do it for the savings, I did it for my health, but I still save about $12-$15 a month in supplies (I went through a lot of supplies before.) I'm never going back to disposables. I even used the diva cup while camping. It's easy peasy lemon squeezy. I'd be more than happy to answer any other questions you might have about it. You can also find some testimonials click here that explain it better than I ever could.

I have been wondering about these as well in the past. Is it messy when you take it out does it spill? That would be a huge drawback to me.

okay Im not the only one ::whew:: I read the testimonials but I dont always trust those plus I cant ask questions there. If I were to use it for the 1st time am I going to have trouble? Does it take getting use too? I like the Diva Cup from what I have read and I read about it on another Mommy Blog. Currently its a monthly messy disaster I feel like Im in jr high again I had tubal ligation after DD3 so taking birth control to make it stop just is not appealing as I dont like taking anytype of meds to begin with. Last time I looked I remember seeing the prices for one right around $18-$20 and its reusable for a long period of time(I think years but I dont remember) thats a huge plus but not the reason I really would like to go for it.
Oh and if you have it where did you order yours from? The different sites vary and so does shipping so I'd like to get a deal with fast shipping

This is probably very TMI, so, sorry -
I used to have a Diva Cup and I used it for about 3 months - before I left it in our hotel room when we were on a trip. Expensive oops! I really liked it a lot. It took a little bit of getting used to, taking it out and stuff, but it really worked well, and I had no leaks. I am pretty heavy when I start, and then it sort of tapers off, and I felt really good knowing I could just leave it in even on the light days and not have to worry about it doing anything bad to my body. On the heavy days, I changed it more often, just to be safe, but I think you can safely leave it in for up to 12 hours. I trimmed the stem off a little, just to make it more comfortable. Taking it out and putting it in were kind of "different" at first, it took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it. I don't get queasy either, so actually seeing the "stuff" wasn't bad. I would advise to wear like a mini pad or something if you aren't absolutely sure that it sealed correctly, but it really isn't hard to use at all. If you just give it a little pull, you will (really) be able to feel the suction. I got DH's mom to buy one, and she really likes it, too! I am saving up for a new one!
I am not sure where I will get my next one, but the Diva Cup website, the last time I looked it had some sort of guarantee, and none of the other places did. I don't remember exactly what the guarantee was, I think maybe if you didn't like it, or if it failed you could get your money back - but I could be wrong. I think it was a little bit more expensive, but it might be worth it for a first timer.

Im definetly going to order one!! Im going to check out more sites for pricing I found one site for $17.99 but I dont know what the shipping was. Now though Im actually intrested in the Luna pads too.... truthfully I thought the idea of reusable pads that you re-wash was the grossest thing ever until I read more about it. Im still not completly sold on them however Im not totally against them anymore.

The Diva Cup, it's a medical grade silicone cup like thing that you use instead of other feminine products. They're pretty neat, and better for your body, no risk of TSS, and reuseable.
If you look at KathrynHannah's first post in this thread she has a link to the testimonials on their website. If you just search around on there it will tell you all about it.
Hope that helps you out!
