I wonder how it would work on my carpet in my living room? Its never been cleaned, only because I can't find anything to do it. Its a large room area rug, and its not thick at all, just covers my hardwood.

Magic Erasers are up there for me too. We have a white granite sink and they work wonderful on there. Of course with coupons it's not that expensive.

Now my expensive cleaning gadget would have to be my microfiber cloths. I didn't have to buy them since they were a gift but I know they are pricey on QVC where my friend bought them.

MAGIC ERASER!!! And after getting them in bulk at Sam's Club, it's just icing on the cake!

ps Dont know if it was an internet hoax, but knowing how people can be, it's believable. Please do NOT clean your children with these! It will burn the skin. When I read the article, I was like, why not just dip the kids in bleach while you're at it?!

My broom? Rags? I don't have any cleaning gadgets!

I use Windex (the clear one w/ Vinegar) to take marks out of the carpet, after I spilled a whole bottle of rust red nail polish on it and the windex took it out, I keep a bottle around all of the time. I might just try plain vinegar next time I have a spot.

It's not a gadget, but a book: Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean, by Linda Cobb. I bought it years ago, and from it, learned that there are multiple ways to clean things without buying expensive products. It's what jumped started my internet research on Homemade products of all kinds.

DH uses the book to figure out how to clean things, so it's worth it just for that!

One night, he spilled an entire glass of red wine on our off-white, linen roman shades and off-white carpet (play-wrestling with the dog). Shaving foam, club soda, hot water, etc. and an hour later, I had it all out! It took a couple of days for dh to make up for that one.

I bet! I almost got away without telling DH, I was too embarrased that I did it. He came home, couldn't see the spot, and I thought I was safe! Then he went to sit on the floor (he never did that at the time) and sat right in the still damp spot! He asked me if the dog had an accident, and my face gave me away! Plus, I wouldn't have been able to let my dog take the blame
