The gevalia had the same issues with grounds in the coffee and a burnt taste after a while. The coating on the warming plate came off. It was just a mess. Didnt last a year - and Ive had several from them.

Which Bunn coffee pots do you ladies have? Do you have to leave it plugged in - Ive been doing some research and found with one of the Bunns you have to leave it plugged in to keep the water in the reserve warm? I dont like that idea.

Went out and splurged on the Cuisinart 12 cup Brew Central. Got it at Bed Bath & Beyond (nobody has them on sale this week unfortunately) - orig 79.99 with the Linens & things 20% off coupon, got it for $67 after taxes. Cant wait to try it out!

Everything is breaking this week and its killing my checkbook! The computer monitor went the other day - that was $160 or so to replace, DH's sirious receiver just went - $35 to replace, and now the coffee pot. Yeesh. When it rains it pours.

We love and I mean love our Cuisinart. My BIL had one and I always liked his coffee better. I thought it was because he made it.HAHAHA NO, it was the machine. We splurged two years ago and I would buy one for everyone I knew if I had the money. The coffee is brewed at a higher temp so I guess that is the difference. I use to own a convenience store and we sold Green Mountain coffee. I would take home the small bags and make it at home with my old coffee pot. It never was the same until I bought the Cuisinart. YOU will LOVE IT. Enjoy your next cup of coffee.
