I bought this yesterday, it's with the regular whipped cream cans. I just tried it and it tastes a little strange, kinda like the metal can. So next time I'll just stick to regular cool whip.

I thought there were only 2 types. The one in the plastic tub and the one in the metal can. I think you're right thought about metal cans having a strange taste. I like the convenience of the metal can but like you, I'll stick to using the tub of it.

I like tubs better as well.

I have tried different brands for the whipped topping in a can and it all tasted funny to me also. So I just stick to the tub kind.
