We bought this for the girls on sale at Target. Picture tether ball but the ball is a tennis ball. It's easy to set up, and the girls hit the ball with the paddles to see who can wrap it around the pole. It's great for hand-eye coordination. The box says you can fill the base with water or sand, but we didn't have luck with water. It kept tipping over if you hit the string instead of the ball. I'm going to try sand when I find some.

I love this game! It used to be called Zim-Zam in the '70s.

The new version works fine with sand in the base. We've had one for a few months and haven't had any problems.

Your local Home Depot or Lowes will have sand cheap - that's where I get the kids' sandbox sand.

We had that...My brother and I used to play for HOURS...Back then it wound right into the ground so you had to leave it where it was (or have Dad yell at you for making another (little) hole in the ground)
