Can anyone recommend a good hand vac? It seems every one I buy losses suction after a very short period of time. The last one I had was a dirt devil and I had to throw it out after 6 months. Very frustrating.

Ooh, I need one of these too. My MIL has an Oreck and she loves it. They are expensive, but they last. She has had hers for about 10 years. Unfortunately I can not afford an Oreck. I am thinking of buying this one: Amazon.com: Dirt Devil 08220 Scorpion Quick Flip Vacuum: Kitchen & Dining. It is corded, which I like, and has good reviews. This isn't the one you had, is it?
