Alrighty, had to get the nerve up for this. Sorry if it's TMI!!

I can't use regular condoms, every time I've gotten a yeast infection and a whole lot of pain - I've tried multiple brands, styles, lubes etc. Not a straight up allergy, but just a lot of irritation. It's almost instantaneous. No fun.

Anyway, since I'm feeding breastmilk, I tried the mini-pill, but that was a no-go, and I had to stop. I don't want to get pregnant any time soon, and I've already had a period, kinda.

I went to Walmart and stared at the condom section forever, and found there is a kind called "Skyn" by Lifestyles, it's in a black box with gold writing. It's polyisoprene, which is a "synthetic rubber", but apparently doesn't have the allergens of latex.

Well, to put it nicely, no irritation, felt almost like without one, and DH didn't seem to have any issues whatsoever with it. I REALLY recommend it to folks who might have irritations with regular condoms and need one.

They are cheaper at Walmart than online too. I think ti was $5-$6 for 12.

There ya go.

I am allergic to latex so I know your pain! is it polyurtehine? I have had problems with the polyurtheine ones (including it coming off and getting stuck ) and it breaking. I wonder if it is completely latex free. Not that I am gonna do it anytime soon lol

Thank you. I, too, have a latex sensitivity, plus I'm allergic to spermicide. My Dr. took me off the pill - all types, so until we decide how to proceed, we gotta do something (or nothing, if you get my drift). And there's just something about the "lambskin" ones that turns me off...don't like that idea...

It's not polyurethane, it apparently a new type. The online store says it isn't out yet, but Walmart here does have them.

They claim to be as strong and effective as regular latex, and more comfortable than the polyurethane.

I also didn't want to do the lambskin route...blech.

Here's a site that sells them, more description.
