I have a gift card to amazon and I wanted to buy a ped egg. I found that there is a ped egg platinum now too. It is black. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it, and if it is any better than the original. It cost 5 dollars more. But I don't want to waste the money if I don't need too. There weren't many reviews for it yet.

I have the original pedegg and I like it. It has worked better at removing the calluses on my heels than anything else - anything! However, I can't see to get the debris into the holder and make it stay there. I must turn the thing the wrong way because it simply ends up making a dusty mess whenever I use it.

Personally for the money, I'd buy the original pedegg and a pack of replacement blades. They do seem to wear out rather quickly.

That was a complaint of a few people who posted reviews. Most of the others say that the little mess was worth it, and they either did it in the tub, or put a towel down. I geuss I will get the original. Thanks

Hmmm..I thought the platinum was the same, just a different color.

The one thing I noticed was that while it got my feet smoother, they got scraped up much more quickly - they felt jagged so quickly. If I still wore pantyhose, I'd probably put runs in them. The other thing is that it still takes muscle. I'd prefer an electronic one.

This is my one complaint with the ped egg. I used it just a few times and the blades already needed to be replaced. My Mom gave me a hard time saying "Geez your feet must be REALLY bad!" LOL (they were )

So, how do electric ones work? How much do they cost? Someone mentioned some sander type of item by Sally Hensen. Mabye I should get that. Or mabye I should just start wearing socks more often, and lotion every night. But I would rarely remember to do that.

I have an electric one; I don't remember who it's by. It has different attachments, fine for buffing, rougher for sanding, etc. Same complaint - they wear down quickly and just aren't heavy-duty enough. When you press down to get it to work better/quicker, it slows down or stops. Want to invent a perfect one?

Ok, so I am thinking, maybe after I get them sanded down nice with the peg egg, I could do some sort of preventative maintainence so I don't have to keep using a ped egg. Hmmm......
