I tried Banana Boat KIDS SPF 50 spray for the girls this year. My five year old has had 2 sunburns... she has NEVER had a sunburn before. Last year we used the Aveeno spray and the girls were pearly white. I'm so dissapointed that she got a bad sunburn on her back today. I coated her up before she got in the pool. I feel so bad

I Have found out with My Kids through the Yrs. that Sometimes For Some Reason They Still Burn . even After swearing by a Brand., And Having it Work Before.

Happens to DH At times too.

I Have no Clue Why Either.

Sorry your DD Burned!

Do you have aloe Vera Gel on hand ?? That is very Soothing to Burnt skin.

I don't know. It happened twice. We thought maybe the first time it got rubbed off. It is a new can and she wasn't out long enough to need to reapply.

Thanks for the support & info. I don't have any vera gel. I was so proud that she has never had a sunburn. We spend hours on the boat and in the water.

We use Banana Boat 50 here, and I've never had that problem, but I don't use the spray. I read that you are supposed to spray it on your hands and then rub it into the kids' skin and that seems pointless to me. I'm sorry that happened...poor girlie!

Thanks Wendy. I wasn't planning on buying it again because I did have to spray it in my hand and then rub it on them.

The Aveeno I used last year didn't require me to do that so I just didn't realize it until after I bought it.

I'm done with sprays!!

I am looking for a good sunscreen for the kids. Skimommy, would you recommend the Aveeno Spray or not?

Skimommy- Just saw your other post about Blue Lizard, never mind about the Aveeno sunscreen.

The Aveeno worked great but has a high health hazard rating. Blue Lizard was recommended by Maggie and it has a very good health & sun exposure rating.
