Well, I know my friend has used just about every diet pill known, and she is now heavier than she ever has been. I just checked, and her BMI just cracked the "morbid obesity" line. She literally has bottles and bottles of diet pills in her bathroom - I'm talking 20 or 30 bottles. She keeps them so she remembers which ones she's tried. She either has side effects, or they just don't work. I'm sure if she found one, I'd know about it - but all I hear is her complain about the problems with them and not losing weight, or rather, gaining weight.

Her lifestyle is what is preventing her weight loss. I know what she eats, and that she doesn't exercise. It's not easy. I know she's irritated with my weight loss (my ticker is just from my after baby weightloss - I already lost my baby weight - 50lbs - in under 6 months). There is no trick. I am unable to exercise, but I can eat normal portions, lots of fruit and veg, lean meat, and minimal grains and starches. I drink tons of water. She doesn't want to do that.

It's not that people are against pills working, there just isn't one. Period. They sell so many because people keep hoping that one, someday, will work. My friend keeps hoping, because it's easier to hope than to change.

I'm with you. I think we took Metabolife at the same time. Oh how I wish there was a wand we could wave. I haven't found anything.

I know Metabolife Original had side effects for me. I could not drink coffee non stop all day at work like I used to with out getting jittery. That is the only bad effect.

Otherwise i was mentally alert, organized in my thoughts and home. I did not procrastinate I was in a good mood and full of energy. I woke up ready to go for the day. The best part is I had no cravings!

I did need to be careful and eat before I went to happy hour ( I was single then, LOL) But drinking with it wasnt a good thing. But I can never have cocktails if i am really on a diet diet, like calorie counting and all.

I unfortunatly thru out a full bottle! Apparently I was thin when it hit the garbage can! LOL

I now wonder if someone did have a pill that they used and liked would they be afraid to post it? In fear that they would look bad.

I know there are women that have tried the pills that is why they sell so many.

A shame, I cannot get honest feedback.

Your question was are there any you like, and the answers, except for one person, is no. I had a friend end up with heart problems from the one she used, Fen-Phen..it was the BIG time seller in the 90s, but then was pulled off the market because of the heart problems. She did lose weight but kept up the bad lifestyle and gained it all back and more.

Hannahjomommy...do you want to try pming me the name of the med you are trying to put on and I'll see if I can find out why it starred out on you in your post? If it still stars, maybe you can spell it out by using it as the first letter in a list of words...like alli would be american, love, love, indian.

And to the OP, it sounds like Metabolife acted like an antidepressant. Was it ever marketed that way? I don't remember seeing it as such, but your description sounds like it was like an upper, creating a sense of well-being. That's the type of thing I'd like to see!

Wow. It's in the amphetamine class. I just looked it up on Wikipedia (I know, it's not an accurate site in many cases).

*********** - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I wonder if it's related to the old Fen-phen.

It could raise blood pressure. Probably would be good for ADD in the adult!

Yes NOW they are being honest, still the grocery store cannot keep them in stock. So who is buying them?

I very much appreciate Hannahjomommy sharing one that worked and what you need to do.
And all that shared a Diet Pill experience.

P.S. - I go to the YMCA 4 days a week to work out and I have a DH on a renal diet that we must adhere to at the house.
