Actually I think you got very honest feedback. There is no magic pill to get you thin and many of the drugs/Supplements on the market are not safe. All the ones I have seen also recommend a low fat diet and exercise. Hm I wonder why that is?
I have used the Alli pill after talking to my doctor about it. It is a drug that doctors prescribe for people that need to loose weight. The over the counter drug is a weaker strength (1/2 the dose of the prescribed drug). As I said in my previous post it only helps you loose 25% more weight than you would loose with diet and exercise. You do need to take a multivitamin with this drug as it is a lipase inhibitor and causes you to excrete fat in your stool. You can loose your fat soluble vitamins if you do not supplement. If you do not follow a low fat diet with this drug you will also have side effects. They are abdominal cramping, gas, and a messy oily green or orange discharge in your pants.

I now wonder if someone did have a pill that they used and liked would they be afraid to post it? In fear that they would look bad.

I know there are women that have tried the pills that is why they sell so many.

A shame, I cannot get honest feedback.

Glad to share. i am going back on them as I said. I had a good experience. I will say I have a history of an eating disorder and It has helped me to control my feelings with food. Like when i take it I do not feel the need to starve, binge etc. Its nice.

Its helped me after my pregnancies to get back to a healthy weight.
Which is where I hope to get now.

I tried diet pills (most likely Metabolife) years ago. By the second day I was such a royal %$#@ that I stopped taking them and threw the very expensive bottle out. To say that they made me edgy would be an understatement. Shortly afterwards, I worked with a woman who had a reputation for being very hard to get along with. She & I both joined a Weight Watcher at Work program and she shared with everyone that she was using diet pills. I remember thinking "no wonder she is such a royal %$#@..." I think those things change your personality. Frankly, I would rather have a few extra pounds than be unnecessarily cranky to my family and others. Of course, maybe everyone doesn't react that way.

Interesting. I TOO took metabolife 'back in the day' and I felt 'good'. .. just like the op described. It never even occurred to me, but it DID act basically as an antidepressent!! And I actually ended up on antidepressents very shortly thereafter,, hmm, and pretty much stopped the metabolife!! How odd!! I had NEVER put that together

I did a search on Slimquick on line, I didn't see anything good. The responses were headaches body aches, anxiety. One person loved it for 8 weeks, she said when she quit her body really crashed hard. I think alot of these doses could be the problem, like i said that when i did take the pille I took less then the recommended dose.

Is caffeine and anti-depressent? That could be the cause of the happy good feeling??

There's an article in August's Allure (the one w/Victoria Beckham) that talks about how women are using Adderall for weight loss. Well....if you're willing to kill yourself, have at it. They talk about how it also helps them get things done (we know the side effects from Adderall or any amphetimine/stimulant ADD drug if you don't need it).

I know this is an older thread but I want to put in my two cents, I tried mostly over the counter things like the green tea one...didnt work! i tried the one anna nicole gushed over crazy thing is THOSE MADE ME HUNGRY!! I am 5'3 and my weight 2 years after having my 2nd daughter was 165-170 I tried running I tried walking heck I felt like I was going to pass out!! I tried jump roping, the treadmill, the YMCA, the excersice ball, weights, tae bo, everything! I didnt feel comfortable working out in front of others so I wanted to do it in the privacy of my own home but I just could do it, I rarely had time, I felt like a nut when I worked out while my kids watched Finally my co-worker suggested P.H.E.N.T.E.R.M.I.N.E and a doc nearby. I was a lil freaked out by it but I just felt gross about myself and my weight and needed a kicker! The Dr. prescribed me a water pill, p.h.e.n.t.e.r.m.i.n.e and chronium picolate(which i found is over the counter in the vitamine isle). I took it for 3 months and lost the weight QUICKLY! I started taking them every day except the weekends....I went to Vegas that summer, I started the pills in April and went to Vegas in June I was 140! The side effect really sucked! The pills worked great however, I felt sick alot, I got constipated, I had the worse headaches, my tummy had butterflies all the time, I couldnt sleep!! my heart would race, my hair was falling out!!.....ahhh yes it sounds crappy and well it was Im just giving you the truth, it did change my eating habits I havent taken the pills since because I got pregnant with my youngest right after Vegas I use to be a HUGE chocolate fan, LOVED chocolate cakes, chocolate cupcakes you name it!! I would junk food DAILY, but the pills kicked that habit! I actually gained the recommended weigth 33 pounds during my pregnancy!! My 1st 2 bebes I gained 75&90 pounds because I couldnt control my cravings!!!! But now a year after my youngest I am at my healthy BMI 140 and truely I think it is has alot to do with the pills that I took heck 2 years ago!! I dont binge like I use to, I dont have the desire to. I have recommended the pills to friends who want to lose the weight quickly but am quick to give them the side effects, and hey it doesnt even work for everyone, but it may for you. GOOD LUCK!! I know how hard it is!
