We are thinking about buying a Ninentdo Wii for a family Christmas present.

Do you have one? Do you enjoy it? Are there plenty of decent family games?

How many accessories/extras do you have to buy after your initial purchase?

What else do I need to know?

We love the Wii! I think that our most played game is the game that it game with and that is Wii Sports. It has a combination of Bowling, Baseball, Golf, Boxing and Tennis. We have purchased additional games that usually come with the acessories necessary. All in all it is a great family game system.

We love our Wii, great family gaming system

We have it and it's great. It's better then any other game system. It's makes you work muscles you never thought you had.

We absolutely love our Wii. We do a game night once a week and it is a lot of fun.

We have the sports one and my little girl has the princess game which she plays with her friends. It is a lot of fun!

We just got one last night! (it was an anniversary gift from my parents Wow)
anyhow I just hooked it up it seems like a lot of fun and I know my girls have played it at friends houses and love it.
They were soo excited (I was too LOL)

We LOVE our Wii!!!

The sports games it comes with are great! We also love Mario cart & Mario Party 8 (these are my 4 yr old DD's faves). My oldest (age 8), DH & I love guitar hero and rock band (the music is great, but not always the best for young singers!)

For Christmas I think we will get Wii fit and dance dance revolution. Oldest DD has played the daance dance and thought it was great!

I know my dd loves Dance Dance revolution at her friends house (using The game cube) I may be getting the girls this for Christmas! I love this type of thing its active and fun! (as long as its not nice outside!!LOL)

We have a Wii and a Playstation 3 (for the blu-ray player) and I think the PS3 is actually a better system. I was really excited about the Wii before we bought it, but after I realized they don't make a huge variety of games for it. We have Rock Band for PS3 and thats good (they make it for Wii), Mario Kart, Big Brain Academy, and an olympic sports game. Our children are young so they can't participate in the group games and those are the ones that seem to be the best on this system. I would probably feel differently about it if my children were older and could benefit from the children's games they have but other than that most of the games are roleplaying anime looking games. This is just my opinion and you may love the system.
