If I remember correctly from the Consumers Reports I was reading in the dental office

Tide
Great Value (Walmart) Mountain Spring (or something like that)
Kirkland

were the best clothes detergent brands in general.

I really like Tide. I find it is one of the only detergents that actually clean the clothes after my children are done wearing them. I stocked up this week! It is on sale here for $4.97 plus save an extra $1.00 with P&G brandsaver coupon.

I really do like Tide, but I will not pay full price for it!!! I like to buy it at BJ's! I will use a few other brands like dynamo, Purex and arm and hammer! Sun was the worst stuff I have ever bought! It didn't take out odors! YUCK!! I recently bought Purex for $.88! With a limit of 4, can't beat that! To save cost (on fabric softener) as well as to disenfect I add about 1/4 of a cup of vinegar. Also, if you really do like Tide, I remember reading years ago that you can cut the amount of product you use by half and still get the same results!!! It works!

I won't use anything but Gain. It leaves your clothes smelling so fresh all day long.

Meant to mention: for those that like Tide, it's on sale this week (thru Saturday) at Target for $10. I think that was for the 64 oz size - you can go to Target.com and pull up your weekly ad by zip code to see it.

I think it's OK to have on hand for heavily soiled, but for everyday, when my kids don't get that dirty, I'll use my cheaper stuff.

With KMart's double coupon sales this week you can get the small bottles for $3 a piece! That's a great savings when they're normally $8 something! I got 3 last night!
