I bought Dawn yesterday with aloe vera so it wouldn't dry out my hands I used a 20 cent coupon at Meijers and they took off another 20 cents for double coupon. I usually buy the Wal-mart brand which is probably made by a name brand but I was wondering what is the best dish detergent for the price. I know alot of people believe that tide is the best laundry detergent but what does everyone think is the best dish detergent? Thank you for your input.

I've always found Dawn to be the best, but I just stick with the original blue.

Dawn is one of the products I will not skimp on! I too usually buy the blue, but if some other color is a better buy..bonus size or whatever I go for that one. I also use it on a LOT of laundry stains, including grease! If you treat grease asap with a shot of dawn (I even let it sit for a few days if that is the next time I am doing that color of laundry!). I have never had it remove color either. Dawn is the best!

Hey Amber, I have a Kellan too! Spelled the same! Is yours a girl or boy? My DD is almost 20 though!

You do I don't hear it very often. It is my oldest boy. I asked him if he likes his name and he said he does and is glad I didn't name him something common. I see yours is a girl my sister went to school with a kellan but I think she spelled it with a "y" or something like that. There is a male model\actor named Kellan Lutz. He is a cutie too I actually named him after my brother and my childhood friend but he spelled it kellen and he was named after a football player. How did you find the name?

Personally I don't like Dawn to do dishes- I like it for stains, getting rid of fleas on animals- but for my dishes I have to drain the sink about 4 times if there is a lot of dishes (which is very irritating!), I prefer Palmolive for doing our dishes.

I've alwasys preferred Dawn, myself. Yesterday I was watching America's Test Kitchen and they did a test with several detergents. Let's see if I can remember them all. They had Joy, Palmolive, Ajax, Dawn and one other one , and then they had the green choices Seventh Generation and Method. They said the Method works the best. I've never tried that one, so I can't say personally.

Personally I will only buy Dawn or Palmolive. Whichever one is on sale and cheapest is the one that I get out of those two. I have tried others- including Joy, Ajax, and store brands and I hated all of them. They were not worth the money. So now it is either Dawn or Palmolive.

I love Palmolive, the green kind. I do use the blue dawn for laundry all the time. It is great! Put a little in a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and use like Shout.

That is interesting about Method. I was thinking of getting the new palmolive or clorox ecofriendly kind next time. I am using the dawn foaming kind now. I like it b/c it lasts forever and a little goes a long way.

I personally don't like Dawn for dishes. I use it for laundry pre-treating...it gets out almost anything for me.

I usually use yellow Joy for dishes. I don't like strong scents, so the Joy works well for me, isn't overly smelly, does the job etc
