I've moved around the country some and have lots of food allergies (seems a new one every year) so I've learned that my "can't live without" list has to remain flexible. A year ago I would have put Noah's Bagels on the list. Now I'm gluten/wheat-free.
My current list:
1. Coffee - specifically dark roasted, preferrably Peets but because of the economy I'll probably start buying cheaper coffee from a local roaster. If things get tougher I'll start drinking more tea.
2. Rice
3. Potatoes
4. Corn, especially corn chips which I eat almost daily. Popcorn would also be under this catagory.
5. Peanut butter. I eat peanut butter everyday.
6. DD's bread. There is a brand of bread that DD adores. She has a slice everyday usually in the form of cinnamon toast or just super-butter on bread.
7. Cookies - I used to be a cookie fiend. Now I limit myself to one wheat-free cookie a day but I still have it on my 'need' list.
8. Kraft Mac N Cheese (The Cheesiest) - not for me, but for DD. I've tried to eliminate it or make homemade and she won't hear of it. We now have it about twice a month.
9. Pizza - Again, mine is wheat-free but we have a family tradition of having pizza, popcorn and ice cream on Saturday nights.
10. Ice cream. I swear it is one of the few dairy products we still eat.
Can I have a #11? That would be the butter for the popcorn and the butter to make super-butter.
