Cucumber Lovers: tell me about the way you like to eat it, or even cook it or well grow it.

No edit button:

I would like to be a BIG SIS to someone who loves cucumbers...

I like mine raw, sometimes with a little salt, but mostly just picked and washed. I even eat the skin. My youngest is the same way.
I do can bread and butter pickles.

Oh! I LOVE Cucumbers! I eat them completely raw with nothing or with mayo or dressing or salt oranything! I have to eat organic or home grown because I can "taste" the pesticide in the regular ones. Don't ask me how.... LOL

Cucumbers are me and oldest ds's favorite thing.

We eat them raw with a little salt.

Peal and slice 2 cucumbers. Salt and stir occassionally while sitting on the counter for about an hour. Makes its own juice. Then add about a 1/4 cup vinegar (not cider) and 1/4 cup sugar (I use splenda). Add some pepper and onion and serve. May need to add a little water if vinegar is to strong.

My grandama made cucumbers and onions using mayo, vinegar and sugar. No exact measurements. I use to add about 1/4 cup mayo maybe less I usually just eye it. Just have to keep tasting it. This use to be how I always made it, but more fatening than the other way.

wash & sliced, combine with chunked tomatoes, sliced onions and top with italian dressing or tomato vinagarette.. YUMMY

We also just pick them out of the garden, wash them out with the hose and eat.. And if they get to BIG we get the kids pumpkin carving (safety knives) out and let them make cucumber boats... They love it!
