*ready cooked brown rice (uncle bens or other ) with coupon, of course!
*stir-fried veggies (with pam, not oil) from costco (very inexpensive)
*left over chicken or beef.
*a bit of soy sauce (low sodium)
in this order, inside a bowl! yummy
this is mine and my son's favorite! when i go to the gym, i only have 10 minutes to put something together for dinner

1/4 c soy sauce (I like the low sodium but reg works fine)
4 tsp sesame oil (everyone should have a bottle of this)
2 Tbs honey
3 slices fresh ginger root(you can omit this if you dont have it but its good with it)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into chunks
Marinate the chicken overnight..then pan fry and serve over a bed of lettuce w/chopped green onions...serve w/a bottle of asian dressing(we LOVE the good seasons brand)
This is one of our favorites....and for kids you can boil the sauce(double it in the begginging...and thicken with a bit of cornstarc/water lurry and serve over rice w/any veggie they like-if gonna thicken and serve w/rice I do recommend the low sodium soy sauce)
nothing faster than a salad for healthy...and this chicken is divine!!!(try it in the summer to on the grill as kabobs...TDF )

i'm going to give a healthy recipe without wanting the magnets :D
buy a bag of dole SPRING MIX greens (coupons for 50 cent off in the papers double to 1.00...making it about 2.50 on average)...
add as many 1/2 inch cubes of part skim MOZARELLA CHEESE as you like
add thinly sliced RED ONION
add CROUTONS (i personally like the texas toast crutons)
roll and cut into rolled slices either low sodium ham OR low fat turkey (i love boars head and dietz and watson ON SALE)
add Newmans Own rasberry walnut dressing (i buy the light because the ingredients content meets my standards and 35 calories for 2 tablespoons is great because i am a salad dressing fanatic
optional: sprinkle on sun dried tomatoes, walnuts, and/or Hormel REAL bacon pieces (i love these)
this has gotten to be my favorite summertime salad. EVERY single thing i list you can buy on sale or coupons are easily available for the products. the bacon pieces are 50% less fat than regular bacon.
altogether you may have about 600 calories in one heaping serving of this salad, but they are healthy calories and worth every drop!

i also have to say that newmans makes a sesame ginger dressing that goes BEAUTIFULLY with this salad! it's a very beautiful piece too...the dark greens, reds, and cream colors of the onions, cheese and meats make it very pleasing to the tastebuds AND the eyes!
enjoy!
