I just ordered another Laptop Lunch system for dh and it came with another Laptop Lunch 'User Guide' which is definitely more of an idea/recipe/educational book than just showing you how to use the Laptop Lunch system.

I already have two, so I'd like to RAK this one. On the front the description reads, "Fresh Ideas For Making Wholesome, Earth-Friendly Lunches Your Kids Will Love". It is 96 pages.

I'd like the person who receives this to be doing the healthy, waste free lunch for their kids, as in healthy food with no plastic baggies, wraps, foils, brown bags etc. So much waste is thrown away every day in schools, it is sickening. If everyone brought their own waste-free lunch to school, this amount could be reduced significantly. Ds only brings a waste-free lunch to school, his teacher told us as the beginning only waste free lunches would be allowed. We were going to do this anyway, but I'm so glad he sees other children doing it as well.

Anyway, this guide gives some great healthy ideas for lunches for both us and our kids. All you have to do is to list your favorite 'veggie' recipe for kids that can be toted in a permanent resealable container. For example, green beans 'salad' made by mixing green beans with Italian salad dressing. Each day I provide a protein, grain, fruit and veggie for ds in his lunch. The other three are easy, but sometimes I get stumped when I'm doing the veggie. Baby carrots, grape tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers and peppers are ones we serve, but I'm looking to broaden our horizons. List your or your kids favorite way to serve either fresh veggies or cooked veggies and I'll pick the one I like best and mail you the guide.

That sounds really nice. I bet you'll get a lotta responses. My bitty chick still eats at home, but I plan to learn a lot more about that stuff when she starts school this fall. I'm glad to know there are more and more people doing the waste free lunches.
