This is one of my favorites... it's nothing special and comes directly from the back of the bottle of dressing, but it's good nevertheless.

Lettuce
Ground beef, prepared with taco seasoning packet
Kidney beans
Doritos, crushed (Nacho Cheese are the best)
Cheddar cheese, shredded
Diced tomatoes, drained
Western dressing

Combine the ingredients in desired proportions to create a yummy taco salad. Yum!

I love this as well. It must be a "northern" thing because I cannot find western dressing here, and regular french is not the same!

I did a search for it here and couldn't find it... that's why I posted again. If you know where your post is, feel free to merge them. It's a great salad, isn't it?

It is pretty much a french dressing but with a nice flavor, it's made by Wish-Bone. I just checked my bottle and on the back of it was a recipe very close to the above recipe, which I have been looking for Thank You but it also had a website for more recipes salad-lover.com & if you click on delicious dressings at the top it will show you a picture of the bottle.

I wonder if it is a regional thing.

Wish-Bone® Western® Original
Try a savory twist on traditional French dressings. Try Wish-Bone® Western® Original Dressing. This rich and creamy French dressing is bursting with a savory blend of tomatoes, onion and garlic flavors. C'est fantastique.

I've never seen that before. I think this salad would be delicious with ranch or sour cream mixed with salsa though. I almost made it for dinner last night, but I forgot we are out of ground beef.
