1/2 c warm water
1/2 c warm milk
1 egg
1/3 c butter, softened
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp salt
3 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 (.25oz)pkg active dry yeast
1/4 c butter, softened

Put water, milk, egg, 1/3 c butter, sugar, salt, flour and yeast in bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
Choose Dough/Knead and First Rise Cycle.

When cycle finishes, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 12 in circle, spread 1/4 c softened butter over entire round. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll wedges starting at wide end, roll gently but tightly. Place point side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Cover with clean kitchen towel and put in a warm place, let rise. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 ,bake 10-15 min,til golden.

NOTE:
I love them best when she rolls them into balls and lets em raise and bakes them in cupcake tins...too cute...and the perfect size to go with a cup of homemade soup!

Thanks for the recipe! I just made some cloverleaf rolls the other day and have decided that I LOVE rolls even more than loaves so gonna try mama's recipe LOL! Anyhoo, I'm a newbie to my bm so I just want to make sure I understand what I'm doing...my bm has a dough setting but it says nothing about a First Rise. I did notice that the dough cycle beeps about ohhh maybe 30 miniutes into the process...is this the first rise? I always thought it was my que to add any extras to the dough. My dough cycle takes about 1.5 hrs from hitting start to flipping the dough out onto a floured surface is this normal?

How long do you let them rise after you have cut them up and rolled them? Just long enough for the oven to heat up???

These look wonderful and I think I have everything in the house to make them TODAY!!!

THANKS for sharing!
