I had Famous Dave's Firecracker Greenbeans this weekend and man oh man were they delish. Does anyone have a copy cat type recipe to share? They weren't really hot spicy, they did cook them w/ bacon, but they were still tender/crisp.

I found this earlier. It was posted on another site. I saw that you were looking for this recipe. Hope it helps.

1 lb. Fresh Green Beans, ends pinched off. Use either the whole green bean, or snap in 1/2.

1/2 cup to 1 cup diced onion
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
Salt
2-3 strips of bacon

I fry the bacon, and reserve a tablespoon of grease to quickly stir fry (on high) the above ingredients. Do not overcook beans. They should be crisp.

You can also toss all the ingredients except bacon in a large pot, and boil for about 5 minutes, and drain the mixture. Don't use a colander with very large holes. You'll lose all the goodies. (If you use this method, fry the bacon, and set aside) Add bacon after.

We had these last fall at Famous Daves and fell in love with them so we played with the recipe. Heres how my daughter Sarah makes them. I do not have exact amounts since we make them for huge family gatherings so.....

saute bacon till as crisp as you like. Remove bacon to drain and pour most of the fat out and reserve. Fry thin sliced onions till opaque. Add finely minced garlic, fresh green beans and red pepper flakes. Saute till the beans are tender crisp and the flavores blended. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired. Add the reserved bacon bits and toss to blend and serve.

This past Thanksgiving, we barely cooked the beans and then popped them in a crock pot to keep hot till we ate. We had 22 people so we needed the crockpot full and very few were left. We like them pretty spicy so we use a free hand with the red pepper flakes but that is a personal taste thing.
