After reading the Tastefully Simple blog I decided to share my knock of recipe with all of you.. It's much cheaper and taste just as good.

Beer Bread

3 cups self rising flour ( i buy walmart brand)
3 tsp sugar
12 oz (warm) beer (cheep beer works better, TS tells you that too)
3 tsp melted butter (must be butter to get the rich taste)

Mix flour, sugar & beer together, bake pour melted butter over top and cool.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min

Other options are Code Red (add a few chocolate chips to make it look like watermelon), Mt Dew (gives it a hawaiian bread taste), root beer

My recipe is nearly identical to yours, except I use 1/2 C. sugar. It's SO easy and tastes great. I can't believe those Tastefully Simple mixes are nearly $5/box!

This looks good -- I'll need to try! You make this in a standard oven not breadmaker? And is a loaf pan best (for capacity)? Thanx!

yes a standard oven, and a bread pan... You will love the out come... I just made it with Mt Dew tonight.. It's a sweet bread, like Hawaiian bread.

I made this last night and I was wonderful. These are things I already had around the house and it was great. My DH and kids loved it. It is too easy.

That sounds good! My family loves Beer bread- but I never knew there was a recipe for it that is this easy! I always bought the Tastefully Simple box! I will have to use this recipe- I am excited! (My husband will be excited too, he loves Beer bread, but hates the cost of the Tastefully simple stuff!

Extra note: Beer bread tastes really good with a dip mixture of:

low fat sour cream mixed with bacos and let it set for at least an hour. My kids love it together and it's a treat!

Thanks! This is just what I have been looking for. I like the Tastefully Simple bread, but would rather not pay so much for it.
