One that doesn't use mayo. We had excellent cole slaw at a resturant, it seems like a viniger, it had some kind of seed in it, maybe mustard or celery.. Do you have a good one?

My Grampa wouldn't eat mayo or miracle whip so Gramma dressed his slaw w/ vinegar, celery seed, salt & pepper, and a bit of sugar, all to taste. I know she would sometimes even use the vinegar off of her homemade pickles. Sorry I don't have any measurements, Gramma wasn't so good about measuring! Just start out w/ a little and taste it as you go.

1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1 large red onion, diced
1 c grated carrots
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 c sugar
1 c wh vinegar
3/4 c veg oil
1 Tbs salt

In a large bowl, combine cabbage, onion, carrots, and celery.

Mix vinegar, oil, salt, dry mustard, and pepper in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour hot dressing over cabbage mixture, and mix well.

I don't know if you don't want the mayo because you don't like the taste of it or if you are afraid it will spoil. But if keeping is cold is not a problem I make a twist on cole slaw it is fast and delicious. Get a bag of shredded cole slaw in the produce section of your grocery store add to it ceasar dressing (I love Marie's dressings) and also add croutons mix it up. The kids love it.

Thanks for the recipes.. I am going to make it today.. We had tried one and it sounds very similar to what we had..

I like all kinds of coleslaw, but was just looking for a new recipe like what we had in a resturante.
