How do you cook carrots?? I cant get my kids to eat cooked carrots, raw with ranch, they will eat them everyday. But if I cook them, they will not try them. I have steamed them a little and they wont touch them. I found a recipe to steam them a little (just a little soft) than melt some butter and add a little brown sugar and nutmeg. It was really good, not too sweet. Well, no one liked them. I just want to see if anyone has any other ideas. I am thankful that they will eat them raw.

DD loves carrots. She won't eat them cooked either. I don't even try. I let her eat them raw.

I only serve carrots when we have pot roast. Otherwise....I don't really ever fix them as a "side".

I wouldnt bother cooking them if they eat them raw. They are more nutritional when raw anyway - so give them the ranch dressing (ds loves them that way too) and everyones happy. :-)

My kids are big "dippers" - any raw veggie + ranch = one healthy snack they love!!

Another great way to cook them, tho, is steam in OJ with a little honey! YUMMY!!

My kids aren't dippers but they'll eat practically any raw vegetable if it has balsamic vinegar on it. Otherwise, for carrots, I shred them and then quickly saute them in a little bit of butter, using a lid to steam them a bit. Quick and easy. Everyone in our house loves them that way.

I think a lot of times, vegetables are usually overcooked. I make vegetables really simple, either roasting them on a pan with a bit of salt/pepper and olive oil or blanching them quickly and then sauteing them in a bit of garlic and oil (kids like green beans this way). We like them just cooked, still firm and colorful.
